
PASTOR THOMAS R. SCHWIND
Tom Schwind is a native of Baltimore. He attended St. Paul’s Latin High School, received a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Mary’s Seminary and University, and a Masters in Theology from The Catholic University of America.
In 1978 Tom Schwind was ordained as a Catholic Priest and served the Park Heights Community as Pastor of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church from 1978-1990. He later became the Pastor of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church where he served in East Baltimore from 1990 - 1993. He was called forth from the Catholic denomination and served as the Assistant Pastor of Cavalry Chapel a non-denominational Christian Ministry in Severn, Maryland.
Pastor Schwind received Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the former Lutheran Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and Sinai Hospital.
Pastor Tom Schwind is married former Community Organizer and Mayor’s Representative, Rosalind Wilson. Together they founded the Ministry of New Covenant Tabernacle at the Historic McKim Meeting House (International site of the Underground Railroad) at the corner of Fayette and Aisquith Streets. The ministry is currently located at 3517 Harford Road providing evangelistic support through the Word of God in the following areas: leadership development, dance, drama, prison ministry, missionary outreach, support to families, married couples, singles, youth and young adults and evangelism to Baltimore City and surrounding counties.
Pastor Schwind is currently Vice President of C.U.R.E., Clergy United for the Renewal of East Baltimore, an active Board Member of Operation Pulse, People United to Live in a Safe Environment, Chapel Service Teacher at the Helping Up Mission, Member of the Regional Ministerium of Partners for Transformation, and a Chaplain with the Baltimore City Police Department.
