Operation P.U.L.S.E. Inc. (People United to
Live in a Safe
Environment) Operation P.U.L.S.E.is a crime
prevention program designed to have a positive impact in removing
crime and violence from the East Baltimore community. Operation
PULSE in partnership with the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions
and Broadway Services (Hopkins Security Division) trains volunteers
with an extensive 28-hour Crime Prevention Course in Operation
Identification, Conflict Management, Public Relations, Courtroom
Training, Citizens on Patrol, and most important, Evangelism. We
are part of the church and spread the Word whenever and wherever we
go. Once the 28-hour security training is completed, PULSE
volunteers take to the streets working with churches to set up
security ministries, the Baltimore City Police Department, schools,
neighborhoods, community group/leaders, and other city
agencies. Contact us to let us know how we can serve you or
make your community safer.
Services Provided Include: |
Fingerprinting for Children and Child Safety | In addition to
taking fingerprints, we also take pictures of the children. We give
the pictures to the parents to have on hand a recent photo in case
of emergency. And, we provide a booklet to keep descriptions and
updated information. | Community
Awareness Training | We attend
community meetings in order to provide awareness for different
security issues. And, we provide handouts and flyers that include
tips to stay protected and how you can assist law enforcement
in making your community safer. We work closely with other
community programs such as Safe Haven (Kids' Safety Program) and
C.U.R.E. (Clergy United for the Renewal and East Baltimore). | Free
Security Training | This is for church
security ministries. It's a 3-day training course, which includes
lectures and Evangelism training. And, it teaches you how to greet
people in the community when you go out for walks. On the 3rd day,
everything learned will go into action within the community,
whether it is riding with the officer on duty or walking into
community areas and spreading the word. |
